Siberian order for Hekotek pellet plant

Estonia-headed wood processing technology provider AS Hekotek has announced it has concluded an agreement to supply a turnkey wood pellet plant to the Russian forest products company Boguchansky LPK.

The 60 000 tonne-per-annum nameplate capacity plant will be located at a sawmill previously built by Hekotek for Boguchansky in Krasnoyarsk Kray, Siberia. Sawdust and woodchips from the sawmill will be used as feedstock, the latter a result of limited off-take availability for pulp-grade woodchips in the region.

The scope of supply includes two pellet presses from CPM. The pellets will be packed both in big-bags and consumer sacks, the latter for export of premium grade pellets. The equipment is scheduled for shipment to Siberia by end of March 2017 with commissioning expected in October 2017. The value of the order has not been disclosed.
