Founded in Porto in 1964, Cimertex is now a leading distributor of industrial equipment, representing several world-renowned brands across Portugal, Italy, and Angola.

Cimertex is proud to expand our product offering to the Portuguese environmental market with the addition of world-class Terex Ecotec products. We look forward to working with Terex Ecotec to build our expertise in this area and become a major player in the recycling industry here, said Álvaro Bastos, Jr. Executive Director, Cimertex.

According to Bastos, the recycling market in Portugal is small, with only 21 percent of the total waste generated in the country currently being recycled. Being in the European Union, where recycling levels are much higher, Portugal has a strong outlook for growth in this sector, with targets to achieve 51 percent recycling by 2024.

I am delighted to have secured Cimertex as a Terex Ecotec distributor as they come with over 50 years of experience in the sales and maintenance of tools and machinery. Cimertex is well-respected in the waste industry, having had great success with Fuchs and Komatsu, along with a previous good record with Terex crushing and screening equipment, so it is a good match to utilise their expertise in product, parts and service to expand our reach across Portugal and tap into the growing recycling sector there, said Mark McGlinn, Territory Sales Manager, Terex Ecotec.

Terex Ecotec is part of Terex Materials Processing group, a subsidiary of US-headed Terex Corporation.
