Toyo Engineering awarded EPC for Ishikari biomass power project

In Japan, Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO), an international infrastructure and industrial engineering and construction company, has announced that it has been awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to construct a 51.5 MWe biomass power plant. This plant will be built in Ishikari-shi, Hokkaido, Japan for Ishikari Shinko New Energy Hatsuden Godo Kaisha.

TOYO will carry out the EPC turnkey contract on a full turn-key basis that includes engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services for a power generation unit.

The plant will use imported wood pellets and palm kernel shells (PKS) as fuel and is scheduled for completion during 2022.

This award also marks TOYO’s fourth-order for 50 MW-class biomass power plant.
