Vepak AS is to launch world's first fully automated firewood packing machine at the upcoming Elmia Wood forestry trade show in Sweden.

Vepak AS, a Norwegian startup that specialises in developing firewood packing equipment, has revealed that it will use the upcoming Elmia Wood international forestry trade show in Jönköping, Sweden to launch the “world’s first” fully automated firewood packing machine.
The company has produced concepts since 2014, landing its first pilot client in Sweden in 2015 and started distribution throughout Scandinavia and the UK in 2016.
– The challenge was to build a robust solution that can handle a wide variety of log lengths, diameters and packing formats. In the UK the firewood producers cut the logs into 8-inch lengths (20 cm) while the US and Canada cut up to 16 inches (40 cm). We have taken these factors into account without compromising on quality and efficiency, said Peter Richard Britton, Head Engineer at Vepak.
Visitors to Elmia Wood will have an opportunity to see firsthand for themselves if the Vepak is all cracked up to be what it claims to be.
