Virtual success for Vecoplan’s 360-Degree Days on wood and biomass

It is not just organizers of tradeshows- and conferences that have taken to hosting virtual events on account of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, would-be exhibitors at said shows have also connected to visitors via broadband fibreoptics. Following the successful premiere of its 360-Degree Days in May, Germany-headed processing technology provider Vecoplan AG hosted a similar event on September 9 and 10, this time focused on the special topics of wood and biomass.

A look behind the scenes of Vecoplan’s 360-Degree Days at its state-of-the-art technology centre in Bad Marienberg, Germany which served as a stage for presentations and demonstrations on wood and biomass shredding technologies cabled out live over the Internet to some 200 participants around the world (photo courtesy Vecoplan).

In order to stay in touch with its customers and present its products, Vecoplan invited experts from all over the world to its “360-Degree Days – Wood in Motion” virtual event. Held at Vecoplan’s modern technology centre in Bad Marienberg, some 200 visitors got to see presentations and demonstrations in German and English by Vecoplan experts.

We had participants from all over the world, so the English-language sessions drew especially large numbers of people, said Silvia Feder, Head of Marketing at Vecoplan.

On September 9, the focus was on Vecoplan’s environmentally friendly, cost-effective VHZ shredder series. Live shredding demonstrations featured the new Vecoplan Pallet Crusher (VPC) in combination with the VHZ 1600 and VHZ 1100 XL shredders.

Attention was also given to specific tasks and applications of Vecoplan’s customers. The second day was devoted to economical and flexible solutions for the disposal and processing of wood leftovers, plus efficient means of processing and storing biomass fuels.

For us, the 360-Degree Days were an exciting experience and a new way to make contact with customers and other interested parties. We were happy to welcome so many people and eager to see the response to our live presentations, said Patrick Pfeiffe, Area Sales Manager at Vecoplan.

Pfeiffer was in front of the camera on the first day along with Area Sales colleague Dimitrios Eklemes.

According to Vecoplan, the event was well-received by enthusiastic participants and it succeeded thanks to a clear plan, a comprehensive advertising campaign and direct contacts with customers.

The 360-Degree Days showed what great interest there is among customers throughout the world in new products and economical solutions. We chose the ideal means of getting this information to the market, and the positive feedback from the chats showed that we found a workable alternative to trade fairs, said Dirk Müller, Head of the Wood & Biomass division.
