Saxlund to supply portable biomass-fired heat plant to Setra Group

In Sweden, Saxlund Group AB’s subsidiary, Saxlund International Holding AB, has signed a contract with Setra Trävaror AB, a subsidiary of wood products major Setra Group, for the delivery of a portable biomass-fired heating plant to Setra's Långshyttan facility. The contract is worth approximately SEK 9.5 million (≈ EUR 895 000).

Located in Dalarna, central Sweden, Setra’s Långshyttan facility produces glulam beams from spruce. The annual production capacity is around 48 000 m3 (photo courtesy Setra).

According to a statement, Saxlund will supply a portable heating plant for dry chips with a power of 3 MW to Setra’s glulam plant in Långshyttan. The flue gas cleaning and ash handling will be designed for up to 7 MW to be able to accommodate a second heat plant of the same size.

Setra has the option of ordering a facility within the contract that has been signed. The delivery will take place during the winter of 2019/2020.

Saxlund is proud to be able to deliver a transportable central to Setra in Långshyttan. An additional bonus is that there is an option for another plant, which shows great confidence from Setra. This will be one of several facilities that Saxlund has delivered to Setra during the last ten years, which shows that Saxlund has very good products that Setra is pleased with. It is an exciting project in Långshyttan and we at Saxlund are very happy to be involved in securing Setra’s demand for heat, said Stefan Wallerman, CEO of Saxlund Group AB.
