Saxlund to supply portable pellet-fired heat plant to Kiruna

In Sweden, Saxlund International Holding AB, a subsidiary of Saxlund Group AB, has announced that it has received an award decision from Kiruna Municipality on July 3, 2019, for the delivery of a portable pellet-fired heating plant with a contract value of approximately SEK 12 million (≈ EUR 1.14 million).

In 2015, Hotab (now part of Saxlund Group), delivered this portable boiler center of the Certus brand to Olofströms Kraft AB. The plant is powered by pellets and has a boiler power output of 3 MW (photo courtesy Saxlund Group).

Saxlund will deliver a 4 MW pellet fired portable heating plant along with the necessary peripherals. The delivery will take place during the winter of 2019/2020. In addition, Kiruna municipality has the option to call for up to another three such portable heat plant facilities.

Saxlund won the contract in competition with eight other suppliers. The contracts will be signed after the appeal period, which is standard practice in public procurement, expires in about two weeks.

Saxlund is extremely happy to have been shown such great confidence by Kiruna Municipality. Saxlund’s portable heating plants are very flexible and for Kiruna, it is designed to use wood pellets as fuel. The most recent deliveries of such portable heat plants have been designed for woodchips. It is also very gratifying that Saxlund won the procurement tender in light of such tough competition, it shows that we have a very good product that customers are satisfied with, commented Stefan Wallerman, CEO of Saxlund Group AB.
