This year Logset Oy celebrates a quarter century in business. The Finnish forest machine manufacturer was founded in Koivulahti 1992 and launched its first harvester, Logset 500H, in May 1993.
– From the beginning Logset has invested in developing its own products. Already the first harvester had the harvester head Logset 5-55, which was also developed by Logset, said Tapio Nikkanen Chairman of the Board .
Although Logset is a mid-sized machine manufacturer, throughout the years the company has had a clear policy to invest in research and development. Last year it launched the world’s first hybrid harvester, the Logset 12 H GTE Hybrid. The hybrid system has drawn a lot of attention in the traditional forest field.
– Logset is a young and agile adult. It feels good to celebrate our anniversary with the current set-up, remarked Nikkanen, alluding to the recent appointment of Kari Mikkilä as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the management team. Mikkilä returns to the company after a nine year “sabbatical” working in the Finnish metalworking industry.
The official birthday of Logset is in August 2017. However, the celebration begins already in June at the Elmia Wood exhibition, that will be held in Sweden. To mark the special year Logset have launched a 25-year anniversary logo.
