In Poland, Finnish automated sampling solutions provider Prometec Tools Oy (Prometec) has announced that together with Polish engineering specialists Uniserv S.A., it has signed an agreement to deliver a turnkey automated biomass sampling solution to the Enea Połaniec Power Plant, one of the largest biomass co-fired power plants in Europe.
With a contract value of approximately PLN 25 million, the delivery includes a complete truck-based sampling system designed to ensure representative, transparent, and efficient sampling of biomass deliveries arriving at the plant.
The project scope covers the supply and installation of:
- Two automated truck sampling systems
- Biomass volume measurement systems
- Truck weighing systems
- Dedicated sampling buildings and supporting infrastructure
The project has now started, with installation and commissioning scheduled during the second half of 2027.
Strengthen biomass quality and fair settlement
Reliable sampling plays a critical role in biomass-based energy production. Representative samples are essential for determining moisture content, verifying fuel quality, and maintaining transparent supplier relationships.
The solution will allow Enea Połaniec to collect representative samples directly from incoming biomass trucks before unloading, ensuring accurate quality monitoring and fair supplier settlement.
Automated truck sampling reduces the risk of sampling bias, contamination, and material mixing that can occur in traditional sampling methods.
The new system supports Enea Group’s strategy to strengthen sustainable and responsible biomass utilization.
By implementing advanced sampling technology, the Połaniec power plant will further improve traceability and transparency in its biomass supply chain while supporting efficient and reliable renewable energy production.
The project combines Prometec’s expertise in automated biomass sampling technologies with Uniserv’s experience in delivering complex industrial energy systems.
The installation will enable the Enea Połaniec power plant to efficiently handle large volumes of biomass deliveries while maintaining high standards of operational safety, fuel quality monitoring, and transparency in supplier settlement.
