Finland-headed material handling and size reduction specialist BMH Technology Oy has launched the new "TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 Shredder" and the "TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 SRF Production Line", developed to deliver consistent, reliable performance in industrial-scale waste processing, refuse-derived fuel (RDF), and solid recovered fuel (SRF) production.
Showcased at IFAT 2026 in Munich, Germany, the TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 Shredder has, according to Jori Kaaresmaa, Plant Solution Manager, Waste Processing at BMH Technology, been engineered for operations that “require stable throughput and consistent particle size” when processing industrial and commercial waste (ICW), municipal solid waste (MSW), and plastics.
Electrically driven and designed for long-term industrial use, the shredder delivers high uptime and dependable performance even when material streams are unpredictable, contaminated, or challenging to process.
Key features of the TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 Shredder include a medium-speed,
single-rotor design, the patented “Zero Gap” system that maintains stable capacity
and particle size as knives wear, and the Massive Impact Protection System
(MIPS), that protects the machine from sudden shock loads.
These design choices ensure long service life, high availability, and compatibility with downstream separation and fine shredding equipment, Jori Kaaresmaa said, adding that the machine on display has been sold.
Turnkey RDF-SRF production line

Built around the new shredder, the TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 SRF Production Line brings BMH Technology’s extensive process expertise into a compact, cost- effective turnkey solution.
The production line is designed for stable, high-quality RDF and SRF production from industrial, commercial, and pre-sorted MSW, meeting the strict fuel quality requirements of cement producers and other energy-intensive industries.
Optimised for processing capacities of 10–25 tonnes per hour, the TYRANNOSAURUS 8500 SRF Production Line combines proven separation technologies with precise particle-size control to ensure reliable output across a range of input materials.
Backed by over 20 years of complete line delivery experience, BMH Technology provides a full process guarantee, offering customers confidence in both performance and long-term operational stability, said Jori Kaaresmaa.
Jori Kaaresmaa added that together, the 8500 Shredder and SRF Production Line “support waste management operators, recycling companies, cement plants, and energy producers in improving material recovery, reducing landfill dependency, and replacing fossil fuels with high-quality, waste-derived fuels in demanding industrial applications.”
