Sweden-headed international technology group Atlas Copco AB has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire a German manufacturer of progressive cavity pumps used for transferring fluids mainly in the biogas and wastewater sectors.

Atlas Copco is to acquire Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH, a specialist producer of progressive cavity pumps for fluids transfer as well as twin-screw pumps used in sectors like cosmetics, food, and beverages.
Based in Wangen, Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing facilities in Germany, and a global sales and service footprint. With approximately 265 employees, the company had revenues of approximately EUR 46.4 million in 2020.

The acquisition is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2022 and is subject to regulatory approvals. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Assuming regulatory approvals, the acquired business will become part of the “Power and Flow” division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
