Due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Bioenergy Europe has announced that it has decided to host this year's edition of the European Bioenergy Future (EBF) conference as an online event. EBF2020 will be a "virtual experience all wrapped up in a unique and engaging agenda" and will take place over the course of three mornings during November 18-20, 2020.
Held biennially the European Bioenergy Future (EBF) conference is organised by Bioenergy Europe and open to all with an interest in both market and policy issues surrounding the bioenergy sector.
Over the coming years, key EU legislations are expected to be actioned and as a result, many factors will start to impact the bioenergy sector and lead it into a new transition phase.
This year’s EBF conference will explore the future of the bioenergy sector focusing on prospective legislation that is set to define the way forward for the industry and, on account of the continued COVID-19 uncertainty, EBF 2020 will be held as an online event.
From understanding whether the European Green Deal is an opportunity for bioenergy to understanding how sustainability has the potential to become an asset for the bioeconomy market; these are just a few questions that will be raised.
With over fifteen high profiled speakers now confirmed from policymakers, senior private sector executives, academics, and other civil society partners from the EU and beyond, are already set to discuss the key features of a successful energy transition – assessing both the challenges and opportunities presented by the current political and economic context.
