HRS Energy in collaboration with CF Struthers and Solar 21, won ‘Best Renewables Project’ at the Humber Renewables Awards held March 9 for the 21 MWe Tansterne Biomass Power Plant project.
The GBP 50 million (≈ EUR 54.6 million) 21 MWe biomass power project, due to come on online next month, had been shortlisted in two categories at the 2017 awards; ‘Best Renewables Project’ and the ‘Green Innovation’ category. The awards, which are sponsored by Siemens and run by the Hull Daily Mail, recognize the green innovation of companies operating in the Humber and East Yorkshire area – increasingly acknowledged as a leading UK hub for renewable energy.
We are absolutely delighted to have won the award for Best Renewables Project. The Humber is one of the most vibrant and dynamic areas of the UK and is probably now the foremost region for renewables development. To win ‘best project’ here is, therefore, a significant accolade – and as a long-standing member of the local community it feels even more special, said Mark Wickham, Managing Director of HRS Energy.
