Hypro has announced that it will launch a new felling grapple at the upcoming Elmia Wood forestry trade show.
Sweden-based forest equipment manufacturer Hypro AB will officially introduce its new FG45FA felling grapple at Elmia Wood. The company manufacturers a range of fully-hydraulic felling grapples which can be mounted on most cranes with a rotator such as on trucks, forest trailers or forwarders and are used for felling and cutting of trees and bushes alongside roads, conduits, in parks and urban environments in addition to its tractor-mounted harvesting processor.
The new FG45FA is a fully-hydraulic construction without the need for additional valve sections for activating cutting and tilting, while still maintaining high cutting power. The grapple both tilt and cut with the open grapple and close grapple functions via a hydraulic switch valve, which also reduces hose fitting. Equipped with a three-channel rotator, this allows for 360° free rotation.
The flexibility of the swift hydraulic spine of the felling grapple makes it possible to reach tree trunks in the correct felling direction. According to Hypro, this makes for a very rational and easily maneuvered felling operation. Furthermore, the light weight makes it possible to use a crane with a long reach without negatively affecting stability and lifting power.
– The strength of our felling grapples lies in well-proven, robust construction with low weight, and in technical innovation that provides high efficiency in an easy-to-use product. We have the market’s lightest chainsaw felling grapple that can cut up to Ø45 cm and can really compete with manufacturers in the industry, also in terms of price said Linus Bergman at Hypro AB.
