Rekom AS, a Norwegian municipal and inter-municipal owned waste management and services company, has announced that it has closed a multi-year RDF supply agreement with the German waste-to-energy plant Energie Anlage Bernburg GmbH (EAB) which is part of the Tönsmeier group of companies."We thank EAB for giving us the opportunity to close this contract to become one of the biggest supply agreement Rekom operates in the European market“, said Marcos Arizti, Business Development Manager, Rekom.

The Energie Anlage Bernburg plant in Lower Saxony has been in operation since 2010 and uses around 450 000 tonnes per annum of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) to produce steam that is used in a neighbouring chemical plant as process steam and for electricity production. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
