Rekom AS, a Norwegian municipal and inter-municipal owned waste management and services company, has announced that it won the tender for the collection and treatment of residual waste for the inter-municipal companies Glåmdal Interkommunale Renovasjonsselskap IKS (GIR) and Solør Renovasjon IKS (SOR).
According to Reskom, the contract involves the management of approximately 15 000 tonnes of residual waste per annum for one year with the possibility of annual extensions of up to three years.

Glåmdal Interkommunale Renovasjonsselskap IKS (GIR) is an inter-municipal company, owned by the municipalities Eidskog, Sør-Odal, Nord-Odal and Kongsvinger. Solør Renovasjon IKS (SOR) is an inter-municipal company owned by the municipalities Våler, Åsnes and Grue.
The criteria for winning tender was price (weighted 80%), transport distance (weighted 15%) and energy utilization (weighted 5%). A total of three suppliers competing for the tender.
