In Norway, Solør Bioenergi Varme AS, part of Solör Bioenergy Group, has recently announced that it has acquired compatriot Odal Biovarme AS. With the acquisition, the company is now growing with more biomass heating plants. The three heating plants, which are part of the takeover, are located in Nord-Odal municipality, located about 9 km northeast of the Norwegian capital Oslo.

Odal Biovarme has a total energy supply of about 2.5 GWh per annum year and provides both public and private customers with energy produced from wood pellets. Solør Solör Bioenergi Varme will continue to supply energy with the same high security of supply and quality.
Nord-Odal municipality is the largest customer, where Odal Biovarme supplies several of the municipality’s buildings with renewable heat. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Measures will be implemented gradually to adapt and update the facilities and customer centers to our operating model. The portfolio fits well into our existing portfolio and we have begun to identify possible growth potential for further development of district heating in the municipality, commented Hans Ivar Morken CEO of Solør Bioenergi Varme.
