Fire destroys Hekotek paint shop

Estonia-headed wood processing technology provider AS Hekotek has disclosed that a fire that broke out on June 2 on its manufacturing facilities was contained. Although the entire paint shop was burnt to the ground no injuries or casualties were suffered in the incident, the cause of which remains to be determined.

According to a statement on June 14, experts and insurance representatives have inspected the incident scene and cleanup works after the fire have been started. Paintwork materials stored in a special container were removed from the burning building within the first minutes of the fire outbreak which, despite strong winds, was contained and brought under control by Estonian fire services.

At the time of the outbreak, only small structure elements of equipment intended for clients were in the paint shop. These elements were not affected by the fire. A stock of components located in the building of electrical warehouse adjacent to the paint shop will be recovered within 3-4 weeks. All the components for the nearest large delivery of Hekotek were off-site and no delays in equipment deliveries to customers are expected.
