Tilbury Green Power completes boiler pressure test

Tilbury Green Power has confirmed that it has successfully completed the boiler pressure test for the 40 MWe waste wood-fueled power plant being built at the Port of Tilbury, Essex, UK.

A significant milestone for the 40 MWe Tilbury Green Power biomass power as the boiler completes pressure test. Members of the boiler assembly and test team (photo courtesy TGP).

According to a statement, the test involved the pumping of cold water within the boiler piping, steadily increasing the water pressure within the pipes to the required 220 bar, and examining the boiler pipework to confirm its integrity.

This is a significant milestone for the project, having reached the boiler pressure test on schedule and successfully completing the test – congratulations to the entire team. We look forward to completing the remainder of the Plant by mid-2017, said Mark Lawlor, Construction Manager, Tilbury Green Power.
