In the United States (US), World Energy, SkyNRG and AEG Fuels supplied sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for Bombardier Business Aircraft flying to the Business Jets Fuel Green Event at the Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in Van Nuys, California.

World Energy, SkyNRG and AEG Fuels completed the delivery of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Bombardier Business Aircraft. Organised by the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), the one-day Business Jets Fuel Green event is a first of a kind in the general and business aviation sector.
As a part of the OEM’s “environmental leadership and commitment” to industry objectives to reducing emissions, the SAF was used for a flight on a Challenger 350 jet flying from Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut to the Business Jets Fuel Green event at the Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in Van Nuys, California.
World Energy is committed to empowering our commercial partners with the tools to effectively transition to cleaner energy. Bombardier Business Aircraft and SkyNRG share our commitment to pioneering a path that significantly reduces greenhouse gas emission by utilizing sustainable aviation fuel, said Bryan Sherbacow, CCO of World Energy.
Produced in California
The SAF is sourced by SkyNRG from World Energy’s Paramount refinery in Los Angeles, California, currently the only SAF refinery worldwide, and delivered by AEG Fuels and SkyNRG. Bombardier’s Challenger 350 aircraft completed the successful biofuel-powered flight on January 16, 2019.
AEG Fuels is committed to the development and adoption of environmentally friendly fuels and working with World Energy and SkyNRG to deliver SAF to Bombardier Business Aircraft takes us a step closer to growing sustainable aviation options. In 2019, AEG Fuels will remain at the forefront in the development of a rapidly growing renewable fuel business, said Greg Cox, Executive VP of Business Aviation at AEG Fuels.
The flight to the Business Jets Fuel Green Event follow regular successful SAF flights by Bombardier’s demonstration fleet both in the US and Europe.
We’re proud to supply sustainable aviation fuel for Bombardier Business Aircraft, jointly with World Energy and AEG Fuels. We hope that the Bombardier Business Aircraft flights on SAF are an inspiration for others in the industry and will be followed by a more structural use of SAF in business aviation, said Eline Schapers, Head of Sales, Supply and Operations at SkyNRG.
