Praj eyes EU for advanced biofuel projects

India-headed ethanol plant engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) provider, Praj Industries Ltd is reported to be in advanced stages of discussion to set up second-generation ethanol plants in the European Union (EU).

According to media reports, the Pune-based company is in an advanced stage of discussion to set up second-generation ethanol plants in two counties of the European Union (EU). Speaking at the EU- India Conference on Advanced Biofuels held in New Delhi earlier in the week, Pramod Chaudhari, Executive Chairman of Praj said that the company was “in the advanced stage of discussion with two interested parties from Europe. We remain confident about our ability to emulate Praj’s success in the continent with our second-generation technology.”

The conference was attended by a European delegation comprising of senior executives from bio-industrial sector representing key organizations and headed by Dr Kyriakos Maniatis, Principal Administrator – Directorate General for Energy, European Commission.
