Austria-headed international technology group Andritz AG (ANDRITZ) has announced that it has received an order to supply a Metris BOA measurement and analysis system including boiler operation advisor apps to a Danish energy plant.
The order, the value of which has not been disclosed, is from Forsyning Helsingør A/S located in Helsingør on the island of Zealand.
Owned by Helsingør Municipality, Forsyning Helsingør A/S is a utility services provider that supplies electricity, district heat, and water to the municipality and is responsible for the discharge of wastewater and waste collection in the municipality.
Together with I/S Norfors – a municipal waste management company owned by five North Zealand municipalities: Allerød, Fredensborg, Helsingør, Hørsholm and Rudersdal – it owns Helsingør Kraftvarmeværk A/S, a biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Helsingør.
Powerful operational analytics app
Metris BOA is a measurement and analysis system web app developed by ANDRITZ that utilizes live data as well as historical data from the plant to optimize and analyze power plant processes and monitor the equipment installed.
It marks the second time that Metris BOA will be installed in an existing plant. Thus, according to ANDRITZ, “demonstrating the need for support tools to improve operation in the power plant market”, illustrating the transition from digital advisor to a digital operator for power boilers.
Tailored operation advisor apps will actively support the operator in increasing the efficiency of the boiler, detect opportunities to improve consumption values, and help start processes according to operational needs.
Furthermore, automatically generated performance reports comparing current data with data from previous periods provide information at a glance for the overall management of the power plant.
The ANDRITZ Metris BOA platform will be integrated into the control architecture as a third layer of automation and control together with the boiler protection and plant automation systems (DCS).
