With just two weeks to go, the annual ambulating European Pellet Forum is set to be a must-attend event for producers and distributors of (residential grade) pellets and pellet boilers, technology providers, representatives from the energy and heating sectors, as well as local authorities and industry associations. This year Verona, Italy becomes the European Pellet Council's capital of pellets.
First launched in 2023, the European Pellet Forum is the annual event of the European Pellet Council (EPC), the voice of the wood pellet sector in Europe.
EPC is a network of Bioenergy Europe, founded in 2010. Its members are national associations representing the wood pellet sector in their respective countries. Currently, EPC members represent 17 European countries and Canada.
EPC is the platform of the European pellet sector dedicated to resolving issues attached to the transition from a niche product to a major energy commodity.
These issues include the standardisation and certification of pellet quality, safety, supply security, education and training, and the quality of pellet-using devices. In this regard, EPC is coordinating the development of ENplus fuel quality certification and continually adapting the system according to market needs.
Ideal co-location

This year’s edition of the European Pellet Forum is being organised by the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association (AIEL), and it will take place in Verona, Italy, on February 27, 2026, during the Progetto Fuoco trade fair – an international event focused on wood and woody biomass-based fuels for residential heating and cooking.
From stoves to fireplaces, boilers to barbecues, wood and pellet-fired kitchen cookers, the expo displays over 430 brands on 65,000 sq.m of space.
Pellet is now a strategic resource for Europe’s energy transition, able to combine environmental sustainability, supply security, and economic development. Hosting the European Pellet Forum in Italy for the first time means recognizing our country’s contribution and giving a voice to a supply chain that looks to the future with confidence. As AIEL, we are committed to promoting quality, innovation, and market transparency, topics that will be central to the discussion during the event, said Domenico Brugnoni, President of AIEL.
Furthermore, the organizers, Veronafiere, expect to welcome around 45,000 trade visitors from around the world, making it an opportune event to emphasize the benefits of ENplus-certified pellets in a post-Winter Olympics Verona.
The European Pellet Forum strengthens Progetto Fuoco’s role as the industrial platform for the biomass-energy sector. It is not just a trend observatory, but the place where companies, institutions, and European networks define standards, interoperability,y and new development opportunities, concluded Adolfo Rebughini, General Director of Veronafiere.
