Liquid Wind project pipeline up for sale
Despite a promising project pipeline, power-to-methanol developer Liquid Wind finds itself in financial doldrums and files for bankruptcy.

Swedish power-to-methanol developer Liquid Wind AB, the parent company of the Liquid Wind Group, has confirmed that it was declared bankrupt on May 11, 2026. Lawyer Lars Melin of the law firm Styrks has been appointed as bankruptcy trustee.

According to a statement, the bankruptcy administration is being led by lawyer Lars Melin together with his colleagues, lawyers Jonas Hallberg, Erik Wendel, and Åsa Nyqvist, as well as associate lawyers Jenny Söderberg and Ellen van ’t Hoff.

Affected employees have held meetings with the bankruptcy trustee. The business – including the subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland – is now up for sale.

In this context, the company would like to extend “its gratitude to employees, partners, customers, and other stakeholders who have contributed to the company’s work over the years.”

Further information regarding the sale process and other matters relating to the bankruptcy will be provided by the bankruptcy trustee and colleagues at Styrks Law Firm.
