This question and more were discussed at the recent European Pellet Conference in Wels, Austria. The event, which was held March 4-5, 2020 as part of the annual World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED), focused on biomass as a cornerstone for the success of the clean energy transition in Europe and globally and how to position pellets as an important solution of climate policy.
According to the organizers, Energiesparverband Oberösterreich (OÖEV), the event was a large success with over 350 experts from 50 countries taking part over the two days. Leading international experts shared their views and insights on burning topics about the future of pellets and the development of pellet markets.
The event also showcased innovative technologies, projects and financing solutions from around the globe, including an array of smart financing instruments and programmes that unlock possibilities for the energy transition in which bioenergy can play a key role in achieving climate neutrality.
The next edition the European Pellet Conference will take place in Wels on February 24 – 25, 2021. The deadline for the Call for Papers and Speakers which has already been opened, is October 12, 2020.
