British Columbia (BC) headed Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., the largest pellet producer, and exporter in Canada has recently purchased its 50th pellet mill from Andritz Feed & Biofuel. Pinnacle purchased its first Andritz pellet mill in 2000 when the company was known as Pinnacle Pellet.
Pinnacle Renewable Energy has since grown to become the largest pellet producer and exporter in Canada. Currently operating pellet production at 7 sites in BC along with an export terminal in Prince Rupert, the company has a combined annual production capacity of over 1.5 million tonnes.
In May 2017, the company revealed that it was going ahead with building its first pellet plant in Alberta, a 475 000 tonne-per-annum plant in Entwistle outside Edmonton.
To mark the 50th occasion, officials from Pinnacle visited the Andritz manufacturing facility in Muncy, Pennsylvania on June 20 to see the new biofuel pellet mill – a Sprout 26LM II – being made as well as various meetings.
