Sweden-headed wastewater treatment and biogas technology providers MalmbergGruppen AB has announced that has received one of its largest orders ever. An undisclosed client has ordered four biogas upgrading plants worth around SEK 125 million (≈ EUR 13.2 million) in total.

According to a statement, an existing client in the UK has ordered four Malmberg COMPACT biogas upgrading plants which will be placed at four different biogas production sites in England that use food waste, energy crops and sewage sludge as feedstock. The biomethane from the four plants will be injected into the national gas grid. To be supplied turnkey, the units are scheduled to inject biomethane into the grid during late summer in 2016.
This shows once again that our customers really have great confidence in us and our technology. Our Malmberg COMPACT is the most robust and reliable process currently on the market. Combined with our long experience in the field of biogas and own in-house production, we are hard to beat when it comes to fast producing functional upgrading plants delivering the environmentally friendly biomethane gas, said Fredrik Nilsson, Business Area Director for Malmberg Biogas.
