Norway-headed Geminor, one of northern Europe’s largest supplier of waste derived fuels to waste-to-energy plants has announced that it now NTA 8080 certified for meeting requirements in processing sustainable wood biomass for power generation.

According to a statement, Geminor has attained NTA 8080 certification for delivery of biomass produced from recycled waste wood to clients in the Netherlands. The Dutch, voluntary requirement scheme is developed in order to make businesses take responsibility for the sustainability of bioenergy. The NTA 8080 has criteria within areas such as greenhouse gas (GHG) balance, environment, biodiversity and prosperity.
A certification institution from the Netherlands has audited our production chain and concluded that we fulfil the requirements for net emission reduction of greenhouse gases at Storoy, which is one of our HUB’s in Norway for recycled waste wood. This includes everything from the origins of the wood material, to how we transport it. Producing biomass responsibly is not only important in the Netherlands, we are experiencing the increasing attention to this internationally, said Kristin Fossum, HSE and Quality manager at Geminor.
