As of October 1, 2024, Switzerland-headed global greentech leader with 3,000 employees in 17 countries, previously known as Hitachi Zosen Inova AG (HZI), will operate as Kanadevia Inova AG.
According to a statement, the name change and rebranding signal a renewed commitment to “a future free of wasted waste. Our mission is to drive forward the energy transition and circular economy with innovative solutions in waste-to-X (WtX) and renewable gas (RG). Our rebranding to Kanadevia Inova reflects both the evolution of our business and our renewed commitment to a future free of wasted waste.”
The company ownership, organizational structure, management, and 3,000 employees around the globe remain the same.
Unifying a global presence
The rebranding initiative is driven by the parent company Kanadevia Corporation (previously Hitachi Zosen Corporation), one of Japan’s largest industrial and engineering firms that Von Roll Inova – founded in 1933 as L. von Roll AG – became part of in 2010.
The rebranding represents “a clear step forward in unifying its global presence. At the same time, it reinforces Kanadevia Inova’s operations and drive for innovation.”
The name “Kanadevia” derives from the Japanese word “Kanaderu”, which means to play or perform music in harmony, and the Latin word “via”, meaning the way.
Thus Kanadevia represents a promise where people, nature, technology, and the planet go hand in hand. “Inova” signals the continuous drive for innovation and excellence in all the company does.
