The Swedish Bioenergy Association (Svebio) has announced that Anna Törner has been recruited to take over as CEO of the association, effective September 1, 2023. She succeeds Gustav Melin, who after fifteen years as CEO announced his decision in January 2023, to leave to take on new challenges.

Anna Törner has many years of experience working with energy and research issues as a subject advisor and group manager within the Government Office. She has also worked with environmental issues in Brussels for Eurelectric, a European trade association that brings together 3 500 European power producers and distributor companies.
Most recently, she came from a position as head of a department at the Radiation Safety Authority, where she was part of the authority’s management team.
Anna Törner has a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) and in International Economics at Lund University.

Anna Törner will be located at Svebio’s office in central Stockholm, where she will lead the work with a staff of approximately ten employees.
